Frederic II philosopher emperor

14:18 Oct 17 2010
Times Read: 937

In the past Science was aware of it`s limits.Maybe because was aware of mystery.Of it`s own mystery. The domains were not separated. The philosopher was also magician, botanist, matematician, crafter.Chemistry and Maths were just areas of the spirit.

In the age of speed we want to cover anything.

The most rational people are not creative. The most creative people can`t avoid the asylum if they don`t pay the tribute to reason.

Today we are masters in everything studying just one year a certain matter.

We sell mystery for pleasure hoping that this will keep us away from death. From oblivion. Maybe that`s why we carry our black spheres with us.

Where we should deposit our garbage?

Where is the place of our skulls?

Now I lay my little caput mortuum here

kissing the ones of all the Frederics

kissing the ones of Marcus Aurelius

in my thoughts.

Your`s too.

I`m with the vampires.

;)

but Salomon the King was very wise an rational and a poet too.

Maybe rational people has become creative in a more abstract way.

Creativity and being rational are both essential to the human condition. :) but our age is convinced that they can't live together. that is sad :(

"Dracula - Voivode and Vampire" Exhibition in Bucharest

17:38 Oct 11 2010

The exhibition presented at the National Art Museum of Romania from Bucharest contained pieces from Austria, Turkey, Hungary, Poland, Germany and of course Romania and had four main sections:

1 - dedicated to Dracula as voivode (3 of his most known portraits, a purple long coat similar with the ones he used to wear, an armor from his age, some of his official letters with the voivode signature, silver and gold goblets from XVth century and three of the manuscripts and prints from Vienna about his atrocities, maps of Transilvania etc)

2 - containing exhibits from the center and south East of Europe XV - XVII century and personalities important for the confrontation between Christians and Otomans (armors, masks, portraits of the main personalities, their ceremony weapons)

3 - a room dedicated to vampirism in the XVIIIth century and XIXth century(original books about vampires and medical examinations of the vampirism hysteria wave from Austria, works about the chewing if the dead, art by Kubin, Goya, etc related with the theme, documents belonging to Bram Stoker abut his novel, small sculptures)

4 - a room for Dracula as vampire from XXth century (posters of Dracula inspired movies, pictures from the movies etc)

One of the main attractions for me was the portrait of the countess Bathory that was really fascinating and hypnotic!

Also was there a medieval church door from Vallachia so I could read with Slavonic characters texts in the ancient Romanian. And of course Dracula`s portraits and signature did by his own hand... in red ink.

:P

In that evening only(Sunday), the movie Nosferatu (1921) was presented and accompanied live by the original music of the ensemble Einuiea (Romania, Portugal). It was a pleasure to hear them and see the movie.

Te exhibition was transferred to Bucharest from Kunsthistorische Museum - Vienna. Not all the exhibits were presented in Romania because of their degradation state.

The catalog of the exhibition in Romanian language was a little smaller then the one from the Austrian catalog that I added recently to the Vampire rave database. It has over 200 pages of very good quality and looks more like an art album.

I strongly recommend it to all vampire lovers as a unique piece of collection.

Romania Enters the Space Age

YAAAY!

Romanians love to fly and they show that many times in history. Our land was the mother of many dreamers with ingenious minds who helped mankind to learn to fly faster or at least they tried: Traian Vuia - first autonomous airplane, Aurel Vlaicu - inventor and early pilot, Hermann Oberth - the inventor of the rocket, Henri Coanda - the invetor of the jet, Albert Ziegler, George Bibescu,, Dumitru Prunariu - first Romanian Cosmonaut (1981).

And finally Romanians launched a rocket:

This event was signaled to me by Manzana Oscura.Thank you, MO!

I wish I could have wings to visit Mexico, but alas! I am just a snake without the feathers!
